2011 Cumulus Chardonnay
“We're unashamed Chardonnay buffs and can never resist Cumulus Estate's from their ideal growing location 620m up in cool-climate high-country outside Orange in NSW's Central West. Their just released 2011 Chardonnay is deservedly Cumulus Estate's flagship white, a premium drop ($35) with beautiful melon and stone fruit flavours, creamy nutty oak and a crisp acidity. A perfect match with white meat dishes or creamy pastas.”The Melbourne Observer, 26th March, 2013,
2010 Cumulus Shiraz
“Cumulus comes from a 508-hectare estate belonging principally to Portugal's Berardo family, owners, too, of several Portuguese estates. Cumulus 2009 shiraz reviewed a year ago, showed more classic fine-boned, cool-climate style. But the 2010 seems notably fuller in style, with stronger firmer tannins - albeit silky, smooth and easy to drink. Winemaker Debbie Lauritz says "We included 10 per cent whole bunches in the press for the 2010, giving the tannins a savoury twist and increasing the texture."”Chris Shanahan, The Canberra Times, 20th March 2013,
2012 Climbing Pinot Gris
“There's plenty of Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio out there with an identity crisis lacking varietal character and spunk. Some even blur the lines of what is Gris or Grigio. Not this wine I can happily say! Engaging aromas of honeysuckle, poached pear with a tiny waft of peach skin get you in the mood. The palate is swamped by generous fruit which is very well balanced with the flavours flowing seamlessly from the nose. Some cinnamon like spice kicks through adding to the depth of flavour leaving a finish which lingers nicely. A very good value wine with textural interest. http://qwineblog.blogspot.com.au/”Steve, QWine Blogspot, March 2013,
2011 Cumulus Chardonnay
“Another cool climate classic from the Orange wine region. On opening the bottle, aromas of hazelnut, oak, melon and fig were detected - a great combination. And, on tasting, a clean, balanced chardonnay with a tight structure and just enough white stone fruit and melon flavours to go with a nutty oak was revealed. The finish was crisp and even. 93 points.”Brett Smith, Geelong Advertiser, 7th March, 2013,
Cumulus Wines
“Cumulus is firing across the board, doing taut, modern chardonnay, as well as savoury, dry rose and deliciously medium-bodied shiraz with enticing cool climate spice. ”Patrick Haddock, Rex Airlines Magazine, 5th March 2013,
2010 Cumulus Shiraz
“This deep, dark red, aged for 15 months, has a bouquet packing a fruit filled punch. A lusty drop from the cool climes of Orange in New South Wales, this wine is smoother than Gary Ablett Jnr's head featuring a touch of spice and flavours of baked rhubarb and plums. Very nice. 93 Points”Shaun Viljoen, The Geelong Advertiser, 28 Feb, 2013,
2011 Cumulus Chardonnay
“Soft at heart but racy through the finish. Lots of fleshy, chubby, textural elements here. Fair hint of toasty oak too. Nectarine-like fruit flavour goes toe-to-toe with the oak and winemaking elements. Tasty for the most part then tidy through the finish. I had to scratch my head and contemplate this one awhile but I reckon they've produced an excellent chardonnay. 91+ points.”Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, 17 Feb 2013,
2012 Rolling Sparkling Pinot Grigio Chardonnay
“On a balmy summer's evening, this bright, fresh bubbly from the NSW Central Ranges slips down a treat. An unusual blend of cool climate Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay (50/50), it creamy mousse and vibrant flavours of apple and pear pair beautifully with canapes, seafood and bbq chook. ”Christine, Food, Wine, Travel, Feb 2013,
2012 Climbing Pinot Gris
“Lively wine with spot on aromatics for Pinot Gris - pear skin, citrus and nutty notes. A dry, slightly fleshy, savoury palate tat is moorish. Easy drinking style providing enough texture to hold your attention. Highly recommended.”Clive Hartley, Australian Wine Guide, Feb 2013,
2012 Climbing Pinot Gris

2010 Climbing Merlot
“The label reflects the high elevation vineyards in the Orange region, especially those situated on Mount Canobolas. Although merlot has struggled for recognition in Australia as a single variety, it has proven to be an excellent partner for cabernet sauvignon in regions such as Margaret River and Coonawarra. Climbing's winemaker Debbie Lauritz is a self proclaimed merlotphile and her devotion to the cause comes through impressively with this effort. This wine offers rousing fruit-personified and refined flavours, proving that Orange has the gears to produce top quality Merlot.”John Fordham, Highlife Magazine, 1 March, 2013
Easy Drinking Rose - 2012 Luna Rosa Rosado
“I'm very partial to a rose, and even more so in summer - it's just the thing to sip in the sun. This one is made in the Portuguese style (which is why it is called rosado) and is light and refreshing with a touch of sweetness, but has a nice dry finish. It's going to go perfectly with my famous larb salad. Enjoy with: any spicy Asian dishes.”Food Director, Donna Hay, March 2013
2012 Rolling Sparkling Pinot Grigio Chardonnay
“The pinot gris/pinot grigio variety has had a spectacular rise in Australian vineyards. The Orange cool-climate Rolling vineyard is a successful pinot gris-pinot grigio producer, and winemaker Debbie Lauritz has produced a sparkler based on a 50-50 blend of pinot grigio and chardonnay. The wine has grassy scents and crisp granny smith apple flavour features on the front of the palate. Pear, shortbread and creamy oak characters combine on the middle palate and mineral-edged acid comes through at the finish. Drink with: Smoked salmon and avocado sushi Ageing: Two years ”John Lewis, Newcastle Herald, 25 January 2013
Uncorked - 2010 Climbing Merlot
“Good merlot varietal personality marks this wine, from Orange, NSW. The pleasant aroma is reminiscent of raspberries, juicy plums and gentle spice. It's medium-bodied and fresh-tasting, with a good mix of savoury and ripe flavours, supported by some very fine tannins. Score: 92/100 Value: fantastic Ageing: Drink over three years Food ideas: Roast vegetable pizza, pink lamb loin ”Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age, 15 January, 2013

Top drops make for a vintage year
“Best Rose: Luna Rosa 2012 The Iberians are coming. As far afield as Orange, Cumulus winemaker Debbie Lauritz and Portuguese colleague Francisco Antunes combined to produce the excellent and savoury Luna Rosa 2012 Rosado ($15). Packed with juicy cherry-berry freshness, the creamy palate and whisper of sugar go down very easily, which is a rose's primary reason for being, surely? ”Jeni Port, The Age, December 11, 2012 | Read more

Think Pink! Luna Rosa 2010
“The list of serious Australian roses is quite long, but here are a few that have given me a thrill recently... The 2010 Cumulus Luna Rosa is something of a nod to the Portugese Berardo family, who are part-owners of Cumulus. The wine is a collaborative effort between Debbie Lauritz (Australia) and Francisco Antunes (Portugal). At only 10.5% alcohol, it's super light and fresh, and its 13g of residual sugar is nicely tucked into the crisp acidity. It's quite a singular wine and absolutely delicious... drink Pink this summer.”Tony Harper, Brisbane News, 1/12/2010
