The Art of Our Labels

Our labels were inspired by the beautiful landscape of our region - Rolling hills and Climbing mountains.

Climbing_fadeThe Climbing label artwork is based on an 1890s poster of the Hawaiian Dive Circus, featuring the Edwardian 'Henry' in the foreground climbing the high ladder. It captures both Orange's high altitude (Mount Canobolas is 4,580 ft) and the drive for winemaking excellence by climbing to great heights.

The Climbing label has garnered praise and design acclaim around the world since its release in Australia, Asia, and the UK. The label was awarded a Silver medal at the 2005 Wine & Spirit International Design Awards in London with judges applauding its non-conformity.

Richard Woodard, Editor Wine & Spirits International, enthused, "It’s wonderful to see humour and a sense of fun,” and Eric Yu, Director of The Breakfast Group, added that the Climbing label is, “a fun and clever label that fights convention.”

rolling_fadeThe ROLLING label features the fictitious 'retro character, ‘Beatrice’, riding her bicycle through rolling hills. These hills are typical of the landscape at the beautiful Cumulus Wines Estate vineyard. Beatrice is a proud, confident, country woman.

Beatrice's scarf is in the colours of the local football team while the oranges in her basket point to the brand's locality.
