ROLLING Wines
ROLLING is named after the rolling hills of our beautiful vineyard and its surrounds. We've captured this imagery in our label designs
These wines capture the potential of the region and its unique topography. The unusual intensity of the high-altitude sunshine gives the fruit deep, rich colour and powerful flavour, while the continual cool temperatures create a smooth elegance.
The results speak for themselves.
In just a few vintages, ROLLING wines have already claimed over 50 awards in Australian and international competitions.
Whichever of them you choose to accompany your dining, you'll find them extremely food-friendly, making a refreshing change from the heavy-handed “fruit bomb” wines that tend to take over and overpower a meal.
The appellation, or Geographical Indicator (GI), is Central Ranges, being the part of our vineyard below the 600 metre altitude.
ROLLING Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Our aim is to capture the unique gooseberry characters of Sauvignon Blanc and complement them with the lemon and honeysuckle flavours of Semillon. They are fermented without oak influence; you will be able to enjoy them young without further ageing: a perfect complement to today’s cuisine. You'll be delighted by the delicate palate, one lively in structure with good intensity on the mid-palate and a crisp lingering finish.
ROLLING Chardonnay
The focus is on layers of delicious fruit accents within a crisp style. Cool climate chardonnay is a delight to make: we use oak to complement the fruit and deliver rich complexity and depth. You will discover flavours of white peach, nectarine and melon with a hint of vanillin oak. The palate brings you a medium structure, good weight on the mid-palate with refreshing white stone fruit flavours and great length.
ROLLING Shiraz
We harvest our Shiraz when it has bright fruit characters. Avoiding over-ripeness is the key to this wine. After initial fermentation, the wine is macerated on skins for 5-10 days to gently extract fine grape tannins. A small portion is taken off skins and transferred to oak for maturation; this adds a subtle complexity your sure to enjoy. The flavours are of spice, berries and a hint of chocolate.
ROLLING Cabernet Merlot
A wonderful example of the synergy that Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot create. The Cabernet provides the fine tannin structure and savory flavours, whilst Merlot provides a richness of “wild berry” fruit in the middle palate. Both varieties ripen slowly and completely on the sunny slopes of the ROLLING vineyard. A subtle oak maturation completes the wine.
