Orange, known as Australia’s Colour City, just 3 ½ hours from Sydney and within easy reach of the Blue Mountains. When you visit the Orange Region you will discover a welcoming city, rich in local history, a flourishing cultural scene, fruitful landscapes, historical buildings, art and culture to surprise you and some of the best food and wine in Australia.
Today, food and wine draws visitors from all over the country as one of the most exciting and innovative dining and tasting destinations. A thriving restaurant scene has been built on Orange's fresh regional produce, complemented by the unique high elevation character of the region's wines. There are now more than 40 cellar doors operating in the region and plenty more vineyards and wineries.
The big annual highlight is the Orange Wine Festival. Held each October, it's a two-week spring festival celebrating all the good things about Orange. Cool climate wine tasting, art shows, special lunches and dinners, live music, and produce markets make this an essential part of any wine lover's calendar.
Orange FOOD Week, each April, gives you the chance to visit the sources of our amazing food and wines, and get behind the scenes at farms, orchards, wineries and kitchens.
